Who We Are

We are a group of new and experienced quilters who love our craft and enjoy everything quilting. Some quilt by hand while others machine quilt. We love traditional, contemporary and modern quilting designs. We share traditional techniques and learn new methods from simple to challenging, in a friendly meeting environment monthly. If you have never seen a “quilt trunk show”, you don’t know what you are missing.

Although some of our members may make one quilt in 5 years while others are constantly working on new “makes”, we celebrate everyone’s work at the Guild. Quilting is an art to be shared, appreciated and loved.

So Join Us. Become a member. Make a new friend. Learn a new skill. Teach a workshop. Enjoy a guest speaker. Give back. It’s time to have some fun.

We would love for you to be part of our story here at Kempenfelt Quilter’s Guild.

What We Do

What we love most to do, is to give back or “pay it forward”. Our quilt guild donates to a large number of worthy charitable causes annually. Our members are always there to support the needs of our community and too often willing to give much more than what is needed. That’s just who we are.

Just some of the amazing things that we do as a group when we meet include Trunk Shows, Show & Shares, Workshops, a Christmas Pot Luck Dinner and yes, even a Birthday Bash. Together we make and donate Charity Quilts for many fundraisers and Comfort Quilts for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Royal Victoria Hospital. We also make and donate handmade pillowcases or Santa Sacks for the Salvation Army. and Easter Basket Dreams for Simcoe County shelters. Many make catheter cover bags for Hospice Simcoe as well. Some members even donate completed quilts to POGO (Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario) who support families dealing with childhood cancer.  But the list doesn’t end here.
